New Member Education

New Member Education is a special time in Theta Alpha. You are welcomed during rush week with your bid for membership. Should you choose to accept that bid, you will be inducted into our New Member status where you are known as a Ruby. We call our pledges Rubies because they are beautiful but still needing refining. Just as it says in Matthew 13:45-46:

"Again the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."

You will pledge for Fourty Days, the same amount of time as the perfect Biblical test that Jesus Christ endured in the desert (refer to Matthew 4).

During this time, you will be required to learn our structure, our standards, and our common beliefs. You will attend weekly accountability groups, prayer nights, new member retreat and a service project. You will get a Big Sister on the 20th day who will guide you through the rest of your pledgeship process and finally, you will be approved for membership.

On the fourtieth night after you were inducted, you will be initiated into Theta Alpha and become a Pearl.
