Calling all alumnae - election season is upon us!

The National Board oversees the local chapters and alumnae body of Theta Alpha and the ministry’s goals.
Each year, the National Board holds elections to fill open positions. Officers are elected on rotation every three years, while the National Alumnae Chairwoman and Chapter Representative are elected every year (rotated between chapters).

The first stage of the election process is nominations.
At this time, alumnae from any chapter may nominate fellow alumnae to run for the following positions:
- National President, three year term
- National Treasurer, three year term
- National Alumnae Chairwoman (Beta alumnae only), one year term
- Chapter Representative (Delta alumnae only), one year term

If you are nominated for one of these positions, we would love for you to prayerfully consider this commitment. We also ask that anyone who is interested in serving on the National Board to speak with a current National Board member, preferably with the position they are interested in! If you have any questions, please reach out to our National Alumnae Chairwoman at alumnaechairwoman@thetaalpha.org or our President at president@thetaalpha.org. This past month, between our three chapters, over 50 young women were initiated into Theta Alpha! The Lord has been so faithful in continuing to grow this ministry. The National Board is seeking twenty-two active and alumnae sisters who may be interested in serving as a mentor to our sisters at our newly established chapter at UNC. We hope for sisters who might be able to pour in and disciple these sisters throughout the remainder of the spring semester so that it might inspire and share the future discipleship relationships they encounter as Theta Alpha sisters.

To be a new sister mentor, you should have the bandwidth to spend time in fellowship and the Word with their assigned new chapter sisters at least once a week during the Spring semester (around 30 minutes over phone call, FaceTime, Zoom, etc. each week), and check in twice a month throughout the summer. If you have been prayerfully considering how to support this new chapter and would like to pour into these women on an individual basis, this is the perfect position for you. We couldn’t be happier to announce that we have officially inducted 22 founding members from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. God has been so faithful in the establishment of this new chapter. We are beyond thankful for all of the love, prayer, and support we’ve received from active and alumni sisters. This wouldn’t have been possible without you!

Please continue to join us in prayer as our newly inducted sisters go through their ruby period. We have no doubts that God will continue to use this ministry and these women in the most incredible ways, brining glory to Him in all they do. DELTA SEMESTER RECAP!!🩷✨🌷

“The Delta chapter of Theta Alpha had an amazing fall semester!! We were so excited to have welcomed home 27 new rubies on bid day! We have loved seeing God move in the lives of these new girls and are so blessed he brought them to us! We had some super fun moments this semester including our pumpkin patch sisterhood where we took the cutest fall pictures, and our roaring 20s themed semi formal! We even joined intramural soccer! We had so much fun getting to know our sisters more!! We also some amazing service moments, including our semester serve day with OCC, and an outreach event at Thrive Pregnancy center. Our sisters LOVE hanging out with the kids at OCC. We are so thankful for the opportunity to serve Orlando’s Children’s Church!

We also had some amazing spiritual moments together this semester. We are all so thankful for the chance to be in a sorority centered on Christ!! We had so many new big little pairings, and have had amazing discipleship relationships form! Our semester retreat was in Kissimmee, Fl, where our chaplain Kaci brought in one of her mentors, Mrs T, to talk about Identity. Mrs. T shared her testimony with us, and reminded us that no matter what, our identity can only be found in Christ. Finally, we celebrated our two graduating seniors at last chapter. Big and Little Week was a highlight, full of surprises, love, and the exciting Big/Little Reveal.

Throughout the semester, we shared countless moments together, from sisterhood events to meaningful service activities, always strengthening our connections. We also had a blast at Kappa Phi events like the rave and Christmas party, where we danced, laughed, and made memories. Whether it was helping out with a cause or simply hanging out, this semester was full of fun, growth, and unforgettable moments with our sisters.” - Beta Webmaster, Aiyana C.

UNC Chapel Hill does not currently have a Christian Sorority. We are excited to bring Theta Alpha’s community + sisterhood to their campus. Please join us in prayer as we begin the process of collecting Founding Members. As the weeks continue, we will reach out with many opportunities for involvement and ways you can support this new chapter!

“Delta’s bid day theme was Welcome to Paradise!! We loved getting to shell-ebrate our new sister!! We had 20 sweet rubies receive a bid this semester. We are so blessed to receive this group of girls. We can’t wait to see where God takes them on their Theta Alpha journey.”

We are incredibly thankful for both Adrianna and Summer's service to Theta Alpha and the National Board as they rotate off this month.

Summer has served as our National Secretary since 2021. She has brought positivity and laughter to the board and our sisters since joining us; we can always count on Summer to brighten our days. In addition, Summer has been selfless in providing her organization, wisdom, and talent to shaping ministry operations for the past few years. We love you and appreciate you so much, Summer!

Adrianna has served as our National IVP from 2021-2023 and our National Chaplain from 2023-2024. In both positions, Adrianna has brought about change for the better, streamlining processes at the center of Theta Alpha operations like our national website and big-little activities and processes, and provided spiritual guidance to countless sisters and alumnae. We can't thank you enough, Adrianna!

The National Board welcomed our local chapter leaders this past weekend for our annual Summit Conference weekend! Our sisters had the opportunity to share about their faith walks and discuss their chapters’ personal needs to create a welcoming environment for new and current sisters.

Our local and national officers spent time discussing together in sessions on topics surrounding Biblical leadership, leaning on the Lord, financial stewardship, experiencing trials in Theta Alpha leadership, and conflict resolution. Our national officers had a great time learning from our local officers about their chapter life and individual sisters’ needs! We have been so blessed to have spent this time with them 💙💛🤍

💐THE GARDEN RECAP💐

The National Board held our first EVER gathering in "The Garden" last Monday, July 29, 2024! We were SO blessed to have so many lovely active and alumnae sisters attend "The Garden!"

During "The Garden," we shared some ways that alumnae who are near and far from our local chapters can support the ministry of Theta Alpha. If you weren't with us and are interested in any involvement opportunities, please email our alumnae chairwoman at alumnaechairwoman@thetaalpha.org for more info! Above all else, we ask that both our active sisters and alumnae join us in praying for our ministry continuously and that God is glorified through our sisters and their work on campus as actives or in the world as alumnae.

We especially thank our guest speaker, Kristen Lanier, for presenting God's Word to us during "The Garden". Kristen took us through James and reminded us that through the trials we face on this earth, God gives every moment to us as a gift! We know all those in attendance were impacted by the truths that Kristen shared with us. Other parts of the night included local and national chapter overviews and updates, celebrating new alumnae of Theta Alpha, and mixing and mingling with new sisters!

We had wonderful feedback from our active and alumnae sisters about their time gathering in "The Garden!" We are SO excited to continue this new tradition in Winter 2025. We are incredibly excited to announce our guest speaker who will lead time in the Word during our first ever "The Garden" meeting: Kristen (Rupert) Lanier!

Kristen is a founding mother of Theta Alpha, as well as served as the first National Chaplain and local Chaplain in the Beta Chapter at UF (class of 2009). After graduation, she pursued ministry work in the local church, served a term overseas in South Africa, and then happened upon Christian higher education, which is where she met her husband and spent 12 years serving in Campus Life, Events, and Communications. In 2016, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri for her husband to attend Midwestern Seminary. Last summer, her husband took a pastorate at a church outside of Raleigh, North Carolina, so they moved across the country, and she now works remotely for a missions agency, Upstream Sending, and gets to be at home with her kiddos. She is the mom to 3 beautiful kiddos - Ingrid (4), Titus (2), and George (8 months).

We could not be MORE thrilled to have Kristen join us for our first ever virtual gathering of all Theta Alpha sisters "The Garden!" and spend time in God's Word with us. “The Garden” is a new semi-annual virtual gathering of Theta Alpha sisters. Active and alumnae sisters are encouraged to attend to fellowship and spend time together and hear news from local chapter leaders and the national board.

“The Garden” will be held virtually via videoconferencing. If you plan to attend “The Garden,” please visit the link in our bio to fill out the attendance form no later than July 28, 2024! The link to join will be sent July 29 before “The Garden” begins to the email you submitted in the form.

We are incredibly excited to have our sisters with us for this gathering and get to know sisters from each and every chapter and pledge class. Our hope is that these virtual meetings will allow us to grow closer together and explore together God’s current and future plans for Theta Alpha. We hope you will join us!
