Hello Theta Alpha sisters!
We hope you have had a wonderful start to your February! We have exciting news coming into this new year; as we have posted on social media, we have been actively looking into a potential chapter in the UNC Chapel Hill area. We are excited to share that we have reached the minimum number of founding mothers to start a chapter at UNC Chapel Hill and are excited to continue preparations towards their official start date!!!
CURRENT TIMELINE
Between now and March 1st: The National Board members, led by EVP Francesca, are hard at work coordinating with the incoming founding member pledge class, preparing for the Ruby period and establishment at UNC Chapel Hill, and putting together support from our active and alumnae sisters for the semesters ahead. If you would like to support this process, we have a few ways we are looking for support below!
March 1st, 2025: We plan to induct our UNC Chapel Hill founding mothers on March 1st, where they will begin their Ruby period! The National Board and local sisters will support the Ruby period process from afar while helping educate new members on the logistical and ministry aspects of Theta Alpha.
April 12th, 2025: The Ruby period ends; initiation will occur on April 12, 2025!
Summer 2025: After initiation, the National Board will help designate the first chapter officers and support the new chapter as it prepares over the summer for their first pledge class!
JOIN US FOR INDUCTION OR INITIATION
We would LOVE to have any of our active sisters or alumnae join us for induction or initiation! If you are interested, please contact Hannah K. at alumnaechairwoman@thetaalpha.org and Brooke at chapterrepresentative@thetaalpha.org. If you are not close to Chapel Hill, please still feel free to share your interest! We're looking into shared interest in attending among geographical areas and forming ride-share options, if possible.
ARE YOU LOCAL TO THE RALEIGH-DURHAM-CHAPEL HILL AREA?
We are looking for alumnae sisters within driving distance of UNC Chapel Hill who would be willing to join our new members in person for one or two of their pledge and/or chapter meetings between induction and initiation. We are actively seeking donations for the UNC-Chapel Hill founding semester to start off strong; these donations will be used to support induction and initiation efforts, contribute to chapter events and operations, and bolster a strong first semester.
