Chapter Establishment Committee | Florida Atlantic University - Boca Raton, FL

Hello, sisters!

As you may have seen on social media, one of the priorities of the National Board has been chapter establishment; it has been our goal to be able to encourage women to reach other college campuses for Jesus the way that our chapters do currently on their campuses. Recently, we have been making strides to potentially bring a Theta Alpha chapter to the Florida Atlantic University campus. We have been so thankful for an abundance of interest from FAU students who hope to bring this community to their university; we have already gotten a chance to speak to many of these interested women, and they are all so intentional and full of passion for Jesus. With the amount of interest that we have been receiving, it’s possible that we would be able to establish this chapter as early as January of next year.

The Theta Alpha Chapter Establishment process requires the National Board to be heavily involved in their upbringing, that they might fully understand the culture of a Theta Alpha chapter, how to best grow in their relationship with the Lord, and how to encourage their sisters to be unified with one another. Some of the plans and requirements for chapter establishment are very detail oriented and require that multiple people be willing to invest their time into these women. With that being said, we are interested in the formation of an alumnae and active sister committee to help prepare for these new sisters in Christ as they take this step to join our ministry.

These committee members would plan for the welcoming, induction, and initiation of these new members, as well as provide support in additional areas of chapter establishment. We are searching for both alumnae of Theta Alpha and active sisters of Theta Alpha who would be interested in providing support in this planning. (This is not only a great way to give back to our sisterhood, but it's also a great way to get to know several sisters you haven't met yet!) ) If you would be interested in supporting this type of committee, please let us know in the comments below this blog post by October 17th. This committee would be meeting virtually at least once in October, November, and January, with more possible meetings as the official establishment date comes closer. (Please note: You do NOT have to live close in proximity to the FAU campus to participate!)

Once a new chapter is established, these new sisters essentially go through “the Ruby period,” as we all did, but new chapters are unique in that they are missing the support and community from older sisters that would be present in already established chapters. We have recognized this and are searching for alumnae close to the FAU campus (in Boca Raton, FL) who may be interested in playing an additional role in chapter development as this chapter grows. If you are residing in this area (or know an alumna who resides in this area) and would be interested in providing support to our chapters in a more personal way, please reach out in the comments of the blog post as well by October 17th!

We are so thankful for your continued support during this time as we seek to fully understand the spiritual culture of the FAU campus and the hearts of these women who have expressed interest.
